Dr. Thilaka Ratnayake

Dr Ratnayake is a Consultant Psychiatrist with a vast range of experience in the field, stemming from a career spanning over 30 years in both Sri Lanka and the United Kingdom. He graduated from the University of Peradeniya in 1985, and has devoted his life to Medicine, and more specifically Psychiatry, since then. Dr Ratnayake obtained a postgraduate degree as a Doctor of Medicine in Psychiatry from the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine, Colombo in Sri Lanka in 1992. In appreciation for his vast contribution to Psychiatric services in Sri Lanka, Dr Ratnayake was awarded a place as a Fellow of the Sri Lankan College of Psychiatrists.

Dr Ratnayake emigrated to the United Kingdom in 1996, and continues to practise as a consultant psychiatrist there more than 20 years later. He has also been appointed a Clinical Fellow for the University of Hertfordshire, as well as being a Visiting Professor for the SRM Institute of Science and Technology in Chennai, India. In addition, Dr Ratnayake serves as the Medical Member for tribunals for the Ministry of Justice.
